I am relatively new to Audi as I purchased my first Audi (a new 2000 a6 4.2). I thoroughly enjoyed that car. I drove the new C6 A6 on this past Friday. I must say that I was not impressed either with the driving experience or with its appearance versus my 2000 4.2. I found the seats to be too firm, the ride somewhat harsh and the styling left something to be desired (large gap between tires and wheel wells & uninspiring interior).
I then drove a 2005 A8L and was sold. What a great car it is! I ended up negotiating a purchase on that car. I will take delivery this coming Monday. I am wondering if there is anything I should discuss with the dealer when I take possession?
Your suggestions/comments are appreciated.

FYI - the A8 is silver with platinum interior. Options include convenience package, cold weather package, xm radio, parktronic, and 18" wheels with A/S tires (live in northern WI).

You will have an "automatic" discussion" with your dealer upon delivery that might last a few hours. If you tell him you are part of this forum, he might reach for a bottle of Tylenol and/or Prozac! I am wondering whether a/s tires are good enough for Northern Wi. as opposed to dedicated snows for the winter months.

Greenie,

I am situated in Northwest Indiana, right at the Southern tip of Lake Michigan. We get a goodly amount of snow and icy conditions here. I have gotten by with a/s tires with no trouble with both my '03 and with my new '05 with the a/s tires.
Hopefuly we won't see any snow, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I made the same step up that you are about to make. I thoroughly enjoy the A8L over my A6. One thing I would suggest, if the salesman demonstrates how to save radio stations into memory, make sure that the stations are ones that you want. I think the upgraded MMI allows you to delete stations, but just in case.....

Oh, take a camera with you. Never too early to get some pics of your car ;-)

The only thing left to discuss with the dealer now is service. Make sure you meet the service manager and know about the A8 loaner car program.

with an A8!

I have a 65 Corvette roadster 396/425hp.

The big german sedan is the perfect compliment to the classic vette don't you agree?

I've felt the A8 is the closest thing to a 4 door vette that has been invented to date.

You car sounds great and you will love it!
