hi everyone,
stopped down at my local dealer today to get
a straight answer on whether the SWB version
of the A8 is going to be available for MY05.
well....they seem to believe that it will not
be coming stateside. they seem to be honest
people so i really have no reason to not believe
them. what do you guys think?
also i test drove an 04 545i with the sport package. car drove very nice. typical BMW.

They should take ALL of the Audi dealers and AoA, put them in a box, shake the box and see if any truth drops out, not only on this issue but every other issue which they have handled with complete ineptness.

....like most all of AoA. I would opine that each and every one on this board knows more about Audi than the entire Audi sales force combined (with a very few exceptions).

I had one senior salesperon tell me "I see you have an S6 - you know you can get more power if you go with a A6 with the 4.2 liter V8 - then you'll have V8 instead of the six"

Leather looks and feels so much like vinyl you can't even tell it is leather and not vinyl. Wood interior trim is even more scarce than the new A6 and, although real, looks and feels distinctly fake, thanks to an overly thick enamel coating. Interior plastics are like a friggin Chevy Cavalier or Dodge Neon. And fabrics for the carpeting and carpeted floor mats is cheap and harsh. Basically, new 5 Series interior is a big, fancy Chevy Cavalier and Dodge Neon. As for the exterior, I always mistake the new 5 Series for a Mazda 6 or Millenia, new Nissan Maxima, new Nissan Sentra, current Nissan Altima or new Pontiac Grand Prix. New A6 is much nicer outside and especially inside than the horrific looking new 5 Series.

Even for the small Canadian market, my dealer at DFC in Toronto expects the first SWB A8 delivery in August.

The models usually arrive in the USA first.

Nice to see the green grass again. I have tried to follow the saga of your 'Silver Bullet' I hope it is fixed soon.

Knock on wood, I haven't had any problems since the last MMI upgrade.
