We got a letter from AoA saying they'll take our car back for a new one. We told them that we didn't want another '04 model and run into the same problems so we simply asked if we could put it towards a '05 6.0 and they said sure. We're going to head down sometime soon to take a look at the options and overall price. I've waited a long time to get a W12 ever since the first one came out about 2 years ago. Finally.

was replaced for the second time. Now On-Star is out! I called the dealer and "cried uncle". I will probably do the same thing as you unless I take an 05 in late July. Ill probably wait. Congrats to you!

But did you see the Brit's write up on the W12???

I don't know if you remember, but I saw a W12 in Italy about 2 years ago in a D2 A8L body....now I would like to import one of those!!!

Regular or long wheel base????

Somebody has to buy my next car! ;-)

But there is always that one (or it seems a few) in the batch that is bad and it looks like we got that one. Interesting enough, these are the same problems that were in the Cayenne's (which has alot of the same electronics as the L) first year run, and have been 95% resolved in the 2004 MY cars (which we have). We told the advocate that we would not settle for another 04 A8L, b/c we didn't want to run into the same problems, but either a W12 or a 05 A8L. He said sure to that idea, so thats what we're going to do. We are going to get the L version as I absolutely love the look of the long version, very classy. If none of this works out I'm going to get the 35k Bentley, aka the 300C.

And you wouldn't need to worry about re-wiring your new car's entertainment center.

about a retrofit. The trick will be to see how thwy bundled(if they did) the wires in the old fin and how the connection is made. I also wonder how much of the roof is solid under it! BTW, I discovered my headlight washers today! I didnt realize that when the headlights are on and the washer is engaged, lo and behold.........!!!!! There was so much water that I called the Coast Guard in Cape May from On-Star. I told them I was sinking fast and asked if they would help. They said that the intercoastal waterway between Phila. and its western suburbs wont be completed until the year 2056!! I then politely reminded them that the Jewish calendar is already at 5767(or there abouts) and that they are late!! LOL

True the new one is much less obvious. I don't think the new ones' footprint is as big as the current, if so, it won't look right in the roof's indentation for the current fin.

with the satellite radios being moot for our cars, I suppose those antennas could be removed ;-)

Im trying to locate the car in a parking lot! But I do believe that the "new" style is more attractive.

1,000,000-1, the 300C will be just as problematic as-or more so than the '04 A8L and '04 Cayenne. Not to mention, the 300C is super ugly and the interior looks much higher quality than it really is. BTW, when you said that the problems in the MY2004 vehicles have been 95% resolved, were talking about the Cayenne or both the A8L and the Cayenne? Also, I most definitely agree with you that Audi can (and often does) build exceptional cars!

The newer fin is smaller and less noticeable, but the car still looks equally gorgeous, IMO.
