Has anyone actually had any meaningful interactions with their assigned "Advocates" or known of a way that their Advocate actually helped a service situation, etc.? Is it all just fluff and PR?
I was frustrated today because, again, I did not get my car back from service. They're still waiting on a part, apparently. So, I fired off an email to my Advocate... not because it will do any good, but it was cheaper than a therapist.
I was just curious about your experiences.

What are the odds that we all have the same Advocate? Maurice Hunter, anyone?

Its the old "left foot not knowing what the right foot is doing"! On many occasions, the advocate was behind the dealer in up-to -date info and thats not saying much. From the way my salesperson represented the position of advocate, I certainly expected much more. I am very disappointed with the entire Audi operation and this may well be my last Audi.

analagous to the insurance adjuster working for you, the consumer?

graduate. Now, there`s nothing wrong with graduating high school. I assume most of us did just that! Its a question of expectations and I expected too much. I now know who is buying most of the Prozac in this country!

never used it. never really thought why i would considering they don't seem to be able to do much anyway. i think they just listen... sort of like a psychologist. but unlike psychiatrists, they can't prescribe any medication.
here's some therapy: call your dealer and scream, "WTF!!!!"
and just hang up. better than waiting for the advocate to do it for you. personal interaction is a really good thing ;)

you could have traded your cheeze-mobile with mine and been very happy! but those darn lcd screens in the back got the best of you!
To be honest... i think you should consider trading it in and getting another one. obviously w/o any neglible monetary loss. I can only say that mine has been absolutely flawless. I've seen the dealer twice so far. Once for 5k maintenance and once for 15K maintenance.
Give it another try. if i am wrong, you can come up here and take my 944 Turbo.....
for a spin ;)

a few years ago), I would wish that this time in is the charmer and that will be that. My car was absolutely flawless for the first 3200 miles and I certainly have given Audi more than enough chances to "put it right" and we will try again. Im watching "History of the World, Part 1" and wondering what Mel Brooks would do in a case like this! After a few minutes of this film, nothing can be THAT serious.

I am in the middle of a two month drama that has remained very civil, but was finally escalated to the Audi Advocacy folks. Today I got a bad vibe. Upon finding that the service manager drove the car after one of the visits and deemed the vibration I was feeling "within the car's specs" they told me that they pretty much have to trust in their dealer network of service managers. They invited me to take him for a ride to point out the problem but it looks like the advocacy defaults to the dealership.
Absolutely no value added as far as I can tell, so far. I had hoped that the Advocate would stand in my stead when some nettlesome problem required someone to spend time on the phone or elsewhere tracking down information or "advocating" for a particular outcome. Something like a concierge for people with busy lives. Such promise...squandered.

I thought I'd post an update.
Yesterday afternoon, within an hour of emailing my "Advocate," I received a message on my cell phone. It was someone from the AoA Advocate "department" (my assigned Advocate is no longer there). He left a very nice and apologetic message. He had already called my dealership's parts department and my Service Advisor, and was allegedly "in the process" of tracking down the problem with getting the parts I needed. He said that he would stay on it and would keep me posted.
Whether it will actually do any good is anyone's guess. But at least they did return the call.
