The last time I dropped by my dealer to have them fish the seat belts out from behind my rear seat. I sat outside the service department, waiting, waiting... it was the end of the day and I observed many of their techs leaving for the day - kind of surprised that several of them left the back lot driving bmw's (one was driving an S4). Is it just me, or would that be kind of like me having problems with my IBM and having the repair man show up with an iMac under his arm?? This is kind of an extreme comparison, and maybe I'm way off base. But here's my thought...
Maybe, just maybe, they should require at least one tech in the shop to drive a car, from each Audi class, as a daily driver, that way they'd get to know the vehicle inside & out, and become oh so familiar with it's "character". Hopefully, they would gain a whole new understanding of the car, on a more personal level, and the dealership would have at least one tech with intimate knowledge of each model. Maybe seniority would dictate which model they would be assigned to drive, or, they could bump themselves up the model line by attending <gasp> traning classes:)
Just a thought.
