I dropped my car off for service last night. At just over 10,000 miles, the following issues are being addressed:
(1) My auto-open trunk doesn't auto-open. I've had this problem with increasing frequency since the beginning. At the 5K service, they replaced the latch, but that only made things worse. The trunk used to open about an inch and then slam shut. Now, it just releases, but doesn't open or shut. There is no hydraulic "lift" at all, even when you open the trunk manually. It has always auto-closed just fine.
(2) I think the little motor in my passenger side mirror is fried. For a week or two, it seemed to really struggle to tilt down when I was in reverse. The mirror made all sorts of noise when doing this. Now, it tilts down when it's in the mood and only when it's in the mood. It's like we're married.
(3) My service indicator started giving me "service" messages in preparation for the 10,000 mile mark. I've been told that they come from the factory set to go off in 10,000 mile intervals. If the service advisor didn't reset it at your 5K service, it will start notifying at 10K. They'll reset it now, then will have to reset it again at 15K to get things back on track.
Hopefully this won't be a lengthy process. I'll keep you guys posted.
