Well, it was a long week without Mr. Prune in my garage. The children were so sad to see the loaner caddy returned - LOL - actually, it did come in handy, bench seat up front allows you to carry an extra passenger - although my daughter said it was quite uncomfortable. whine, whine, whine....
Anyway, talked with my service advisor, asked him for a printout of the fault codes that they had to deal with this time around. He smiles and admits that I'm the first person to ever ask for them :) He comes back and hands me a twelve page printout!!! Upon further inspection, it's not all code faults, it prints a complete diagnostic log and some items have faults detected, but most say "0 fault(s) detected", so that made me feel a little better. The log also lists the different diagnostic procedures that were carried out, step-by-step. And something called a "Funktion Test" hmm... is this test administered by James Brown??
So, to make a long story short - here is the repair description.
"Inspected vehicle and found left front wheel speed sensor has come loose and sensor is out of adjustment. Installed new bolt and reinspected system. Now working as designed."
5 days in the shop,
.38 cent part (warranty),
driving my own car again - Priceless!!
One interesting thing Randy discovered on the VAGCOM printout: Under each major system heading it gives some kind of coding/description & dealership# - the interesting thing is there are three different dealership numbers listed. Does that mean my car has been worked on by three different dealerships?
Expecting the FedEx guy to show up today, Randy informed me the VAGCOM software should be on the truck. I think he still needs to order the manuals - this could be interesting....
Have a good weekend everyone :) Cheers!
