The two items that I asked them to look at was the speedo error and the pessimistic gas gauge (I filled the tank on the way to the dealer). I'd given my SA the plot of the actual vs indicated speeds, and he was willing to see what he could do.
He told me that they replaced the instrument cluster trying to cure both the problems. Unfortunately it didn't fix either one, the speedo error is exactly the same. Interesting.
When I was given the workorder, it included a six page diagnostic log, that shows all the faults (and no faults) recorded. I had no comm to the humidity sensor (hmmm, never noticed that). The log also shows that they re-did the levelling of my car. It listed all the steps and measurements they used to reset level. I'll measure my car again this week to see if it's changed.
While I was waiting for my car to be brought around, there was a black A8L with the Amaretto interior there: absolutely stunning! It had the new style fin on top. The antenna is probably 80-95% the size of our old style ones. The actual fin that sticks up looks exactly like a miniture vertical stabilizer from a 737. It's about an inch long by 2 inches tall.
And was it nice getting back into my car after that A6 3.0 loaner, it really makes me appreciate the A8L's suspension and power ;-)
