The GPS (bitchin' Betty) in my L has been outa date fron the get go on delivery last October. I am told by the Service Rep that updates are mailed to/to be mailed directly to customers on a schedule to be determined by AoA.

Question: Has anybody on this forum actually seen such an update??

The D2 folks (at least my dad) got an updated disc once mailed to our home free of charge. So I guess whenever the map gets updated, the D3 owners should get a new disc at least once.

Yep, sorry if unclear. The nav system is based on GPS and a map update disk direct from AoA or their subcontractor is promised "someday". I just wondered if anybody had actually enjoyed this blessed event

When we bought the D2 A8L, I'd imagine the D3 people will get theirs when there is an update.

Many thanks for the link info. Seems they call the company Navteq. Anyhow their site confirms no DVD map update available yet for D3.

They price their mapping DVDs @$249. Wonder if AoA will spring for the first one as they (apparently used to).
