Maybe you all know this already, but...
I discovered that it's possible to make a phone call while holding the phone, and then to put it back in the cradle without losing the connection. Just make sure you don't fold the lid back down when you put it in the cradle; then press the phone button on the steering wheel. The nasty lady says "Goodbye", and then you can talk and hear via the car speakers and mike.
This can be useful if, for example, you need to punch some buttons to reach a particular extension; it's a lot easier to do that when holding the phone in your hand. Putting it back in the cradle is a little cumbersome, but it's a workaround until we get a truly integrated phone setup (yeah, sure!)
