I've posted on my issue before under "Trans Surging" but thought an update was in order. As a recap, I was having a "surging" issue whent he car was cold in the mornings. Essentially, it was a stutter in acceleration. After a new trans (car is an 08 CVT), axles, and many other items, Audi could still not figure it out. The car was in for 30+ days for this issue and about 10 days when i first got it for a starter issue.

Nevertheless, Audi of America has done the right thing and decided to give me a brand new 09 (when they come out, hopefully soon - noone at corporate that i spoke to seemed to know "I'll have to get back to you on that". I continue my lease contract with the same exact terms, and same exact residual!!!! Plus, I get to pick the color, and obviously they must equip the car equal or better to my 08. Unfortunately, my 08 was the 3.2, so i won't be able to get a 3.0 supercharged. All in all, it's going to be a great holiday season after all.

Just thought i would share this, that atleast in my experience Audi owned up to their shortcomings and made up for it (in a big way)!!!

AFAIK '09 CVT = 3.2 only, '09 quattro = 3.0T.

Audi recognized it pretty quickly and offered them band new similarly equipped 2008 A8L. Like you, they had to wait for a while for inventory, but had a loaner in the meantime. I think there was also a significant lease abatement during the interim - hope you haven't been paying full freight in the meantime.

Bad begining. Good ending.

Not the current car but I have a really bad story about AoA....sometimes I wonder why I am still with Audi after what I had to go thru with them.

Good for you!

Not sure what they would do with my 05 4.2 with the same problem. I have 75K plus miles on my car still under CPO warranty. I just want this issue fixed before my warranty runs out.

If anyone has other thoughts as to the problem, please let me know.
