Anyone have an issue with the car just plane shutting down. It happened once at a stoplight and I accelereated and the car died. Turned it over and it started right up.

then it happened again 2 months later while driving on the fwy. The car straight died, sterring wheel got stiff, i was able to break barely. Turned it over 3 times before the car started up.

Of course the technician couldn't find anything, even on the computer and arent' able to duplicate it.

this really scares me, I was lucky i didn't get in a wreck on the fwy.

Please help.

Unless the car thinks it is turned off by the driver with a key.

What were you doing at the time?

Where was the key?

the first time I was at a stoplight accelerating. the second time i was on the fwy, and it literally shut off.

The explanation from the tech as to why there might not have been any codes, is that it sometimes wont generate codes or errors until it happens a many times, then it picks up on it.

I think the dealership is hesistant on giving me the car back, because of the liability issue. They told me they contacted Audi of North America to see what they want them to do.

My B5 S4 blew up and there was no code to be found. There were pieces of the engine all over the place, though (literally).
