Beware of the rear wheels. The calipers on the rear of the 2005+ have electronic parking brakes (EPB) and apparently require the use of the VAG-COM unit to reset the force on the parking brake device before the pads / calipers / rotors are serviced.

I actually replaced front rotors one month ago, and its fairly simple. The rotor is attached to the hub with a T star bolt so make sure you have that otherwise you wont be getting it off. Other cars like hondas use simply Philips heads to hold the rotor to the hub.
As far as the rear, everyone says you must have a VAG-COM to replace the rear pads, well it probably makes it hell of a lot easier, but I did it without it, you have to spin the piston clockwise a ton of times and also push in every so often and then basically it will get all the way down, takes maybe 10-15mins of just cracking and pushing, but it can be done as I did it.
