View Full Version : KWv3 installed -- ride quality is better than stock (i'm shocked) ...

the car looks great and not only does it handle better it's not as 'violent' as stock when going over potholes (many potholes in VT). What i mean is that when i went over potholes with my 19s on the stock suspension i used to cringe from reaction. Now i go over those same potholes and the rebound is firmer and not as violent-- much better control. As if the ride is what it should have been from the factory.

I have to say that this is an awesome suspension -- i took a few corners with some excess speed -- car sits level and tires grip :). The sway bar is set to a softer side. I have driven in lowered cars and all the suspensions were super harsh and that is what i thought i would encounter with this setup but it is the opposite -- firm but very controlled.

My settings on the rebound are a little past middle towards the firmer side. Compression is set to middle between max hard and max soft.

Lastly, the rears settled since yesterday -- i was going to stick with the 'two finger' rule, but the rear came down about 10mm so today i adjusted the fronts to about even with the rears. Sorry about the long post.

ps. i also tinted the rear 5 20% :) enjoy

it took the shop half the time on just the rears -- i would not recommend this type of install unless you have the space and the proper equipment. The rear spring is ginormous :) -- in terms of coil thickness... the front is relatively simple to do. I rather had the guys who do this for a living install the setup -- HR sway bar was also installed which required the exhaust to be taken down...

very easy to adjust the coilovers... have to take off the wheels but i had both fronts readjusted in 10-15 mins

The more I look at the Avant, I'm thinkin the OEM sport suspension just isn't gonna cut it. Really curious to hear what the whole package set you back. Congrats again, looks perfect!

is the dealership the only place to get it?

how much is it and how much to paint/install?

is it a straightforward install or is there a lot of modifying to get it to fit properly?

how much lower does it make the front?

thx!

for our cars, otherwise looks vary plain. i'm thinking that the front is maybe 1.5-2" lower.

look around on the classifieds maybe someone will sell votex parts unpainted, thats how i got my spoiler -- madaudi.com has stuff for our cars, maybe slightly cheaper.

my installer said the front was a pain as there is no clips or divots to work with -- forced to use special industrial strength glue (didn't come with parts) and once on you have very little time to make adjustments to placement. The rear was just a snap in, very easy to install.

parts do not come painted -- i think for front and rear painted and installed i paid around $300-400. I don't recall exactly as it was almost 1.5 yrs ago.

Madaudi sells it for $550. But they also sell the full S6 front end upgrade kit for $1500 which comes w/ a lot more "stuff".
