Hello All,

I have a 2006 Audi A6 Quattro S-Line. I have purchased the Owners manual for the car from ebay as I did not have it and am still waiting.

I had a few questions about the warranty as every website and every dealer seems to have a different answer:

1- It says I have 4 years/50,000 mile free maintenance...does this also cover wearable items like brake pads for the 2006 models?

2- For upholstery items such as steering wheel and seats, what is the warranty period? The dealer told me its 12 months 12,000 miles...I think thats ridiculous as I had my seats replaced after 2 years and 11 months and 49900 miles on my previous acura TL.

And heres another question NON-related to the warranty: My car has cold weather package, im pretty sure, as it has rear seat heaters...I believe it should also have the steering wheel heater, does anyone know where the button for this will be?

THANK YOU in advance

Cold weather package doesn't equal heated steering wheel. It was a separate option. Not sure where the button is as I have cold weather but no heated wheel myself.

AOA has a policy of 12 mo/12K miles for wearable items, such as windshield wipers. I don't know whether that would apply to upholstery. I've heard from others in this forum that it is a dealer by dealer decision. Most get it covered as they should hold up for the entire warranty period.

Unless you have Audi Care, your brake pads won't be covered but will under Audi care or if the car is <12 mo/12K miles, to the best of my knowledge.

Is controlled by a small button on the top side of the bottom left spoke of the steering wheel next to the airbag part, provided that you have it of course. When you push it a little message comes up saying that it's on or off.

According to my owners manual, it states that "the steering wheel heating is automatically engaged at temperatures less than 50 degrees only when the drivers side heated seat is turned on."

It also says that the "steering wheel heating is automatically adjusted according to outside temperature and CANNOT be manually adjusted"
