The new S6 is a great car but some old favorites are missing. No net in the trunk, the hold downs are still there so I move my net from the S4 and it works fine. The orange triangle is no longer included and the small net pocket on the right side is gone. The indentation is still there, but no net. The net pockets on the front seat backs are gone as is the small fold down shade over the mirror.
It just seems strange that on an $80,000.00 car simple little things would be deleated. Robbie in Mobile.

No more toolkit or first aid kit either, at least I didn't find them in my S6 besides all the items you mentioned.

I can't comment on your details as I am back to Audi after a 6 year hiatus. However I was surprised about the absence of a cargo net in the trunk. Fortunately I saved the one from my 745I which just fits. I still believe though that we have a lot of car for the money.

I'd also rather they put my money into engines and ergonomics and such, than into cargo nets.

but I agree with you on the cargo net, triangle, and seemingly useless side trunk indent.

I sell BMW's and they are losing their tool kits, glove box flashlights and only the higher end models come with floormats. Not to mention only a couple of their cars come with spares (run flats/mobility kits).

will not make or break as sale of an Audi.
On the other hand, it may just save your live if you are stuck at the side of the road one night.

Otherwise I have to put them in at an angle as in the C5's I owned.
That said, I agree that it is annoying to delete the other items. Luckily I noticed the cargo net missing before taking delivery and they just took one out of another A6 and threw it in. I still can't believe there are no nets on the front seatbacks in an $80,000 car!

Many people buying BMWs MBs and Audis are those who would change a tire or do maintenance. If they do, they'll have better tools than Audi will offer. Plus, it's better marketing to say that they'll send someone out to fix your car than give you a kit......

There is no first aid kit in my S6's rear center armrest and I don't even see a place where it would go.

the latch releases the top lid of the armrest, which then pivots up, revealing the 1st aid kit inside the armrest.

Not in my car, the latch reveals a very empty compartment inside. I'll touch base with the sales manager to see if I was supposed to get one (salesman is long gone from the dealer).

We did Euro delivery on our S6 this past fall, and, at the drop off place in Munich, the guy had us remove everything that wasn't tied down -- 1st aid kit, tools, DVD for nav system, etc. -- saying that a lot of stuff goes missing before it lands at a US dealer. Good luck!

VERY good point! Plus with my net-less seats come 10 cylinders and 435 ponies. I guess I don't care about the nets! ;)

They never have a net partitioning the indent on the C6. They designed the optional (in Europe) boot package so that the enclosed net can be set up to either act as the partition or as luggage tie-down.
There has also never been a small sunshade above the mirror, as they used that space for a sunglasses holder instead.
The others are just Audi USA trying to save a few bucks on items which are either unnoticeable or not required by law.
