View Full Version : Another Whine about Audi service...

Took my car to Audi on March 27th, to evaluate why my airbag idiot light was on. They quickly looked at it and decided it was a rear seat belt sensor. They ordered a part to fix it. Called them to see if the part was in on April 2nd. They told me that it would be in on April 3rd. Called them again on April 3rd, part came in. So I bring the car back to the shop. I call them again that evening, so I can pick up my car. Sorry, Audi sent the wrong part need to keep it over night. OK! Called again on April 4th, to see if overnighted part came in. "NO Sorry, should be in Saturday".. I asked if I can get a loaner car, was told "NO PROBLEM" and was directed to Enterprise rent a car, that is located next to dealership. Was told that the part should be in today, April 5th. I called today again. "No Sorry, maybe on Monday". I can understand Audi screwing up with the part. But they don't even bother calling me with the progress of the car. I have to call them, everytime.

Thanks to this forum I knew that Audi service could use some improvement. But this is getting crazy. I'm getting to the point that I'm afraid to even bring it to the dealer (delays, damaged rim, no loaner, etc.). My wife is looking for another smaller SUV, and I was thinking about the Audi Q7 or a Porsche Cayenne. Well I would have to be a complete fool to do that. Sorry Porsche/Audi, I'm shopping elsewhere.

End of Whine...Thanks

I don't use the closest dealer to me and actually have to go 15 to 55 miles farther to get good service.

Not sure if all are like that, I would hope not.

Thanks...

I have about 4 dealerships within a 15-20 mile radius, and I've used a couple of them. One made me feel like i'm getting the service that should come with a premium car, and the other made me feel like they're doing me a favor by servicing my car..

There's only one dealership in town and their service has been inconsistent. Had lots of difficulty with the first 18 months of B5 S4 ownership, then got a rockin' SA for the next two and a half years.

That was when Audi service was what I expected from a premium brand: convenient appts, loaners, great communication. Trouble is, he left, and I haven't had the same SA twice in my last few visits there. Actually had to go to Atlanta (160 miles away) to get issues that were clearly covered by warranty resolved. And the ATL dealer got them all resolved in one visit!

So for the guys who live on the coasts and bigger metros, count your blessings. You have multiple alternatives within a reasonable drive, both dealers and indie shops. For those of us in Siberia, being an Audi nut is like being a castaway.

but was told by state farm adjuster that they would only pay to fix the rims, which cost more than the replicas in the first place. Manager was pissy. He did give me a loaner as a favor though so that the adjuster could see the car at the dealer. And I did tell dealer I would buy new rims directly from him if the adjuster gave the ok, which he didn't. not my fault . sheesh.

with only 1 dealer in town, and the dealer i like being 90 miles away...i have my last audi.

my bmw dealer has been great, and only a few miles away.

i like some of audis products, but their poor dealer service has turned me off, most likely for good unless i move somewheres else.

I've never bought a new Audi from them, only CPO'd cars and one BMW from the St Paul dealer. They treat me like a king, always prompt and courteous, always a decent (yet Enterprise) loaner.

I had nearly the exact same experience right down to the Enterprise rent-a-wreck. My rear seat sensor was replaced but it was still malfunctioning - it ended up requiring a new rear seat wire harness and the harness was rerouted so it doesn't pinch the wires. It took four (long) trips to the dealer to get it resolved. This was a year ago.

When the dealer didn't have a promised loaner for me, they steered me to Enterprise who was totally unprepared. I ended up getting back in my Audi and driving off. The service guy was stunned. Later, we made arrangements to get the car finally fixed. I wanted them to recognize that the when a person makes a reservation they should be ready. Otherwise you can just show up anytime.

I also own a Lexus; the service level doesn't compare. Lexus is much, much better (even free chocolate at each trip). If Audi wants to claim to be top tier, they need to step up every time. The competition is stiff.
