Just picked up my 4 year old A6 C6, Dakar beige, very pleased with it as it's way better than my previous 2001 A4.

Just wondering what wheels you all think would look best on it, 19" RS6 replicas, RS4s etc? Would 19s cause the car to slip out on country road corners (like the 18" RS4s I had on my A4)???

Hate trying to pick out wheels without seeing them on a car first!

Any size wheel is only as good as the tires you choose.

in terms of which brand exactly i would think about how often you drive on dirt roads -- and maybe not go with an ultra performance summer tires. Maybe lean towards a performance all-year tire.

Tire rack has decent write ups on tire types.

If the dirt road is in really bad shape you may want to step down to an 18in wheel to gain more rubber - this way you try to avoid your rims getting bent.

I don't drive on dirt road but the roads here are in pretty bad shape, two out of 5 rims are already bent (had them rebalanced but i still experience some vibration as a result). IMO

go with an 18x8 or 8.5 with 245/40s. I just went with 19x8.5s with 245/35s (you can do 255/35s as well) and the ride is rough combined with my Eibachs. I am almost regretting going 19 although it looks great (B7 RS4 reps)
