The car looks nice with the springs on, but I was impressed by the exhaust. Is it an S6 exhaust? How much did the parts and installation cost you?

View Full Version : Calling 2008 A6, I have a couple of questions about your mods Vik79 04-03-2008, 08:57 AM The car looks nice with the springs on, but I was impressed by the exhaust. S4GARO 04-03-2008, 09:12 AM its just the S6 rear valence and dual tips. no performance gains...no change in sound.

http://forums.audiworld.com/c6a6/msgs/44092.phtml</a

2008A6 04-03-2008, 10:43 AM Thanks. It's actually just Porsche 911 tips. Had to cut off the OEM tips and weld on the new ones. You can occassionally find a deal on those tips used on ebay for about $100. I ordered the S6 valence from the dealer for $200. The labor was about $100. The key is getting the outlet aligned right in the center of the valance openings. Vik79 04-03-2008, 12:24 PM frybear 04-06-2008, 03:21 PM There is a slot under the trunk which makes the tips adjustable. But you have to enlarge the slot with a tool or saw to allow even more movement to bring the tips closer in to the center of the car. 2008A6 04-06-2008, 06:07 PM to the center, as it would not leave enough clearance around the inner sides of the mufflers. So he just welded on a slight S-shape pipe to redirect the muffler outlet to the center of the valence openings. I told him that others have just adjusted the muffler in, but he claimed you need to have 1"-2" clearance around the muffler. I'm not sure if that's the gas tank or spare tire well between the mufflers.. |
