I have an 06 S6 which gets really confused. Now I thought it was only me who said "turn left" and meant right, or "take the first exit" when I meant the third....

Anyone else had this and if so what did you do?

The car is going in for a new parking sensor/camera computer (something else it got confused about) shortly and will get them to look at this also.

Thanks.

my '06 A6 Avant had a confused nav as we were driving up i-5 north of Sacramento near redding. it started showing the car to be 2 or 3 miles to the east of the road (in a field) and kept giving us directions to get us back to i-5. After 30 seconds without any correction i checked to see how may satellites it was receiving (8 to 9) and then shut it down. after stopping at a rest stop for 10 mins we headed north on i-5, turned the nav on and it has worked normally ever since (1.5 months). i cannot say what the glitch was, but maybe once a month some other electrical gremlin will cause a problem (driver's side window would not auto up or down for example) which will disappear after the next start-up. hopefully yours will go away too.

Say I want to go to town A from Home. It is 60 miles on major highways. The nav will take me in the opposite direction on a detour which adds 50 miles to the trip.

I am traveling on a major highway and the nav wants me to leave the road and make a detour down a second road and then back to the main road, thus adding several miles to the trip.

If I continue on the right road, as I know where I'm going, it will try taking me down gravel roads just to get back to its preferred rout.

Changing the preferences makes no difference.

map is wrong.

happens in our A4 as well, so it's not just C6.

Since the dealer upgraded my NAV DVD to V5 I've had both issues. Also some locations are missing now.
I suggest that you upgrade to V6 (or if you can V7 although the DB is the same according to Pierre).
