Haven't been on the audiworld since my a4. Looking to buy a new car, maybe an a6. Not sure convince me with your pictures.

loaded with them already. Folks here might be a little busier, and maybe a smidge more sophisticated than the A4 demographic, so you might want to be more specific. We have a few members who have modded their cars, but most appear to be stock.

So, sadly, I cannot provide pics. Sorry. :(

However, sit in the seats in the 2007+ S6 (which has a 5.2L FSI V10) and that will most likely prompt you to buy the 2008 S6. 2007 S6 is sold out and has been for a couple of months now.

Of course, you have to be willing to spend $74,000-84,000 (stripped down to maximally optioned; all S6 prices include notorious U.S. gas guzzler tax) if you go with the S6.

The A6 4.2, which has a 4.2L V8 (now with FSI technology) ranges from $54,000-69,000 (stripped down to maximally optioned; no gas guzzler tax-HALLELUIAH!!!!!!)

The A6 3.2, which should be the A6 3.1 with it's 3.1L FSI V6, ranges from $42,000-57,000 (with lousy FWD) or $44,000-59,000 (with in a class of it's own Quattro AWD). Add $2,000-4,000 to the A6 3.2 sedan with Quattro for the A6 3.2 avant ($46,000-61,000 or $48,000-63,000; in North America, all avants are Quattro only-HALLELUIAH!!!!!! number 2). All of these A6 3.2 price ranges are stripped down to maximally optioned with no gas guzzler tax, of course (another HALLELUIAH!!!!!!).

The A6 4.2 and S6 are Quattro only and no front wheel drive worldwide in sedan and avant bodystyles. Yet another HALLELUIAH!!!!!!

However, the A6 4.2 and S6 are sedan only with no avant in North America. Bummer, as the current A6 and especially the S6 are even more gorgeous in the avant bodystyle than they are in the sedan bodystyle, where the current A6 and especially the S6 are already extremely gorgeous.

If you've seen one bone-stock Oyster Gray A6 you've seen them all ;)

Funny, that's not what I call mine.

I rather like mine, hasn't left me stranded in the snow and I get 27 MPG average mixed driving, 32+ on the highway.

Are you only worried about how a car looks?

quattro makes it a real Audi.

Depending on weather, what type of driving you do, how often you trade cars, one or the other drive system may be the right one for you.

While QTR is ideal for bad weather or driving at 10/10ths, Front Trak offers a delicacy of feel at normal everyday speeds, that is masked and cannot be found in QTR models.

Like for like (i.e. 3.2Q vs 3.2 FWD)
1. It's lighter
2. Quicker (I can blow away a 530 231bhp auto)
3. More economical
4. Better handling than the C5 FWD - front axle further forward, better suspension
5. Less expensive - quattro alone cost US$12,000 more in Singapore
6. Less drivetrain frictional losses

Disadvantages are
1. Worse handling (esp in the wet - dry handling debatable, esp when the C6 quattro is still on a 50-50 torque split)
2. Multitronic is less than desirable

I'll leave you to your conclusions, but mine are that unless you live in an area with lots of snow, or is wet all the time, quattro may be a luxury and not a necessity.

I disagree with the comment that the only 'real' Audis are Quattro-spec'd models. But that's my opinion, and I can respect yours.

I didn't realize that 85% of US Audis were Quattro. That explains why I see so few FWD A6s ;)

It's as simple as that. The advantage of Audi over other competitors quickly erodes away without the Quattro option.
