Just picked up a 2006 A6 3.2 Quattro.

Car lived most of its life in Florida up to now and the chrome just below the window strips has tarnished and is now discolored.

I thought that the dealer would replace these under warranty. Boy was I wrong. They want $350 for each door.

Anyone else have similar issues?

Strange, I would have thought something like that would be covered. I haven't had a a chance to bring my car in for a few small issues but I hope they don't deny my issues.
Have you tried to contact Audi USA?

Believe me I was just as surprised. I was told that they need about an hour or two of labor on each door. Also surprising.

I was going to do some searching to see if I could either get them painted or replace them with black ones for less $$

05 A6 and Audi should pick up the cost. I think there may even be a TSB.
