I have just under 1 year left on a 3 year lease for a 2005 3.2 A6. I will be about 20k miles over on my lease which = roughly $5k. The options I am considering are either:

1 - purchase the car outright for 26k with 60k miles on it

2 - lease a new A6 with a higher mileage lease as long as Audi agrees to eat some of the excess mileage.

3 - pay the overage and get something else.

Any thoughts on what to watch out for or work with Audi on? Thanks in advance.

Except in the value that you get for the car. Just hope that your payoff is not too high.

If you start working your dealer rep... they might take some payments off the car or they might waive the overage.... these are all possiblities...

with option 1 and 3 ... you will either get stuck with a high mileage car or will have to fork out $5K for overage.

therefore, best option is no.2 cause there is a possibility of you getting some sort of deal.
