I'm crossposting this because there seem to be some issues floating around with FSI engines that misfire at cold start, hesitate, and/or end up having deposits on the intake valves.

There are two TSBs out, one on misfire problems on FSI engines, and one of fuel quality problems. Audi is claiming that misfires and deposits on FSI engines are being caused by bad fuel, according to my service tech.

Be aware, if you have any issues at all, and you have an FSI engine, get your car into the dealer.

Misfires and fuel

I've had this problem now for the past 4-5 months & although since taking to the dealer I haven't had much problems lately I want to make sure that I have some ammo to take with me the next time during service.

The problem seems to be going around with some FSI engines and not others. I don't think Audi has a handle on it, but it seems to have some visibility from the factory now. If dealers encounter the misfire issue, they are supposed to contact AoA for direction.

Thanks for post.

I am already rotating name brand gas stations and am keeping the receipt - as proof not buying some stuff that doesn't belong into our cars.

Audi's from a 2.8 A4, 3.0 A4 & B6 S4 & never had any problems & my little 2.8 had 65K miles on it when I bought it & I put another 30K on before trading it in. I raved & raved about how dependable & trouble free Audi's were until this C6 A6.

Maybe it's unfair to chastize Audi over one car & maybe some of us got the one built on a Monday or after a drunken stupor weekend but I've almost had it with the Service or the lack of & unwillingness to correct or do updates when they know good & well they have the capability to do so!!

Hate to say it but if it wasn't for the fact that I see Beamers & Mercedes all over the place in So. OC I probably would have left a while ago.

Also, you know they have people watching & reading these posts every once in a while but you've never seen a post from a tech or Service guy standing up for their departments. I think they know.

Here's some ammunition. Service is supposed to contact AoA for direction.
