I just traded in my Porsche Cayanne S for a Silver and Black full loaded S6. What a fun car, goes well with my S4. Love the seats and I am sooooo happy I dont have that ugly white piping like on the RS models.

I still want to drive the RS4 to compare. ccap 09-24-2006, 05:19 AM April 09-24-2006, 04:19 PM and so demand will remain low until early Spring. That may result in AoA cutting back allocation, so cars may be become quite scarce. We don't know if audis4bachelor really paid that amount, if they had a trade that the dealer made money on, or some other aspect of the deal like buying a number of high priced cars from that dealer. Spider99 09-24-2006, 05:07 PM Personally, I just don't think the car is getting as much hype as say, the M5 did. April 09-24-2006, 05:44 PM in Spring, as this is the start of the car buying season (Summer). For example, I used to sell 12 to 15 cars in Winter. I would sell 15 to 25 cars during Summer. Every salesperson saw a similar shift. Add up 10 to 20 salespeople who all experience the the same thing at each dealer, and you can see the odds of creating demand is much better by introducing a car in Spring. I think AoA bowed to pressure to offer the car as soon as production began in Germany, rather than wait a few months before offering it here. ryanrS4 09-24-2006, 06:54 PM S.Tominovich 09-25-2006, 09:02 AM 800 over invoice for a car that was just released? Impressive. Audi blew it on this one. April 09-25-2006, 04:49 PM We have no proof he actually paid that. He could have just as easily claimed to have paid, $5K over MSRP, and would you believe that too? S.Tominovich 09-26-2006, 07:04 AM They blew it again...this car will not sell and it will depreciate like a rocket. They should have only brought the S6 in a wagon and marketed the hell out of it. It is a loser. By the way - my M5 and E55 wagon are cooler than the S6 too. ;) Bring it on April. April 09-26-2006, 08:40 AM pulls out of the right turn lane at the last second and almost hits the Lexus in the lane next to him. No turn signal, and clearly a case of wanting to just jump ahead by a few cars. Youngish guy wearing Elton John Gucci glasses in the gangsta driving position. Well, the Lexus had two young guys in it, and the driver got out of his car to have a talk with the BMW driver. He was clearly upset by a needless manouver and his friend had to come and drag him back to the car. Proceed up the road a few miles on the expressway and the there is only a truck and myself in the right-most of two lanes for a half mile in front and behind - but the BMW suddenly comes flying up in the fast lane. An exit is coming up, but it's well marked. Instead of dropping in behind us and exiting, the BMW uses no turn signals and jumps between us while jamming on the brakes, almost hitting the truck, and causing me to hit my brakes. No turn signal of course. I open and close my hand as in "use your turn signal buddy" kind of gesture, and he flips me the bird. That's all too common among BMW drivers, and if that is what it takes to be a "winner", then I'm just going to have to pass on the grounds of not being nearly enough of an a55hole ;-P Austin A6 3.2 09-26-2006, 02:09 PM ... or do you have any other kind of inferiority complex? Go play with your overpriced BMW and MB toys and stop trolling the Audi boards. I don't think we don't need kids like you around here ... ms2.7t 09-28-2006, 12:53 PM I Drove an RS4 about 3 weeks ago, handled very good but didn't give much of a sense of accelleration. Picked up my S6 yesterday. Very happy with the car, very fast for a sedan (also very subtle on the acceleration feeling). Also the suspension is a bit stiff. My only real complaint is no XM only Sirius. My previous audi was an a6 2.7t with a stage4. This car is much more refined. Blownaway 09-28-2006, 02:15 PM 03 RS6 new $85K still bringing mid $60s 03 E55 AMG $85K worth mid $30s if you think the Benz is the better place to put your money, your an asshat. jpvwaudi 09-29-2006, 04:37 AM DD (CA) 09-30-2006, 12:19 AM You folks below are making assumptions. And on target... I love the S6, in concept. But, they tend to be artifically maintained at price. Limiting the avail only goes so far. Every previous version S4(100CS), S6(A6) experienced substantial discounts after some time. And I also feel the higher the intial price, the larger the drop. Is the ratio for new car discounts similar to used car resale drop, or no? DD S.Tominovich 09-30-2006, 02:53 AM I am an Audi guy - just frustrated by my most recent experiences - an absolute lemon of an 03 S6. I think the RS4 is awesome - but I saw the S6 last night with a window sticker of 82K - I am sorry, but that is too much for this car. Out of the box - it is slower than the E55, E63 and M5. In fact, it is probably slower than the E39 M5. I just don't get Audi's marketing scheme. They just seem to be going into this half hearted. So - sorry if I offend anyone. Just my 2 cents. Plus - I like to get under April's skin. 06 M5 06 E55 Wagon 88 M5 03 S6 02 M3 01 S4 Avant 00 S4 88 M3 S.Tominovich 09-30-2006, 04:28 AM My 02 M3 with more miles was worth more than my 03 S6. Audi's don't hold their value. You have no idea what you are talking about... Quattrings 09-30-2006, 09:07 AM The S6 will sell and the RS6 will sell out. Quattrings 09-30-2006, 09:11 AM Very true - Noticed the same thing when looking for an RS6, the RS6 holds its value much better compared to the Merc. The S models do well, and much better than the standard models, especially w/o quattro. |
