Woke up fell out of bed, filled the car in seconds flat. (Yes, you may sing along)
On the way, I noticed the gauge read flat out empty and the dashboard displayed the gas icon. After 10 minutes, the icon disappeared and the needle zipped up to the full position. Very strange. I know for sure the gas cap was turned past the clickety-click point. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, my trunk lock sometimes catches and sometimes does not.
they will need to reprogram your instrument cluster to the latest software..90-05-03.

They say I need a new fuel sender, and they don't have any. Part is on national backorder.

Of course, this is if you have advanced key. If not, you might check the in-trunk panic lever adjustment.

sounds like the same problem Audi had in '99. Before they announced the recall, I thought my garage attendants were stealing gas from me:)

no advanced key, trunk lock has gremlins. I'll check the inside emergency release. I didn't think of that, never been locked inside the trunk before:) Thanks anyway.

I had to have mine replaced. It started out just not catching sometimes, then got to where it would hardly ever catch, and if it did, I wouldn't want to use the trunk again for a while...
They replaced the latch and all is well!

Kids have locked themselves in trunks and died. Look on the inside of the trunk lid there should be a handle there.
