Has any one transferred their original pressure sensor from stock rims to aftermarket rims? Looking at new prices it would cost $560+ to replace new. Was wondering if it was an easy process and what it would entail in the transfer? Thanks for any help in advance.

Factory sensors are part of the valve stem assembly and they tuck up inside the hollow of the rim (the angle is even slightly adjustable on the units with a shoulder type "hinge").
My sensors fit my aftermarket wheels with no issues. The shop that did the work said the trick was to put them back on the original postion of the car (i.e. left front goes back to left front, right front goes back to right front, etc...).
After they were done with the switch, I had no problems and they have been silent since.

Then the left front is in the rear... and so on. I doubt anyone will rotate the tires by re-mounting them.

I have not had to do this yet so I can't say for sure, but my wife's '06 A4 3.2 had no issues with recalibrating after the tires were rotated.

why was it so important / difficult / "the trick" for the shop in question to install the sensors from the original wheels in the new wheels at the very same position? Why not simply throw them into a bucket, install them wherever they pleased, and then recalibrate?
