Does it matter if you get non-sport, sport or air suspension OEM, if you are going to replace the springs and shocks anyways?
Basically what I am asking is, will your final ride height when you lower the car be dependent on what you had originally from the factory?
Also, can you even lower your car aftermarket if you have air suspension?
TIA!

It matters only if you are considering the air suspension.
If you change the struts and springs on either factory sport or non-sport, it won't be an issue. If you go with factory air suspension, it is lowered using an electronic module - not springs.

The H&R electronic lowering module ETS is a product for cars which have an OE air- or ABC-suspension.
By using the H&R ETS module the car is lowered by approx. 40mm which does not only change the centre of gravity but also optimize the driving dynamics as well as the driving safety. A sporty performance and harmonic optics is given.
The H&R ETS module consists of an electronic hardware-module including plug connectors, a T?V approval and a detailed mounting instruction. The H&R ETS module can be re-installed easily.
The H&R ETS is available for the following cars:
Audi A8 Type 4E
Bentley Continental GT
Mercedes Benz E-Class (W211) / CL (W215) / S-Class (W220) / SL (R230) / CLS (219 K)
Porsche Cayenne with air suspension
VW Touareg with air suspension
VW Phaeton with air suspension

the suspension & driveshaft components are different when you compare the stock with the s-line.
Apparently the components are shorter so as not to affect the gearbox with the lowering of the ride height.
This came up in my discussions with him about retro-fitting the s-line.

the car, does it mean that sport suspension also shares the same components with the S-line ?

The sports suspension (which is not developed by quattro GmbH) lowers the car by 10-15 mm, and the s-line by 25 mm. You may want to check.
