View Full Version : Treo 700p disappointment

My 2006 - A6 dislikes my Palm Treo (verizon). I can initially get everything to work - limited phone book and all - but eventually the Bluetooth connection gets quirky, with random shutdowns and re-starts. Eventually, after a number of these re-boots and re-starts the Treo will go into its infamous "boot loop". I've figured out how to recover the Treo, but the Audi bluetooth phone package is just too unreliable with this phone.
I place the blame on the Audi, not the Treo, since outside of the car the Treo works beautifully. I could be wrong - if anyone can shed light on this, I'd love to hear it.
Oh well, you don't buy a German engineered car for its electronic finesse now do you. If I wanted a rolling electronic toy store, I can always buy Japanese. Anyone out there having a seemless Bluetooth experience with their MMI equipped Audi? In particular, a phone, PDA solution is preferred. Let me know.

Along with everyone else on the planet, I'm disappointed in the lack of an iPod solution as well.

Ahhh - the things money still can't buy.

In any case, I still believe that the Audi interior design, layout and styling are the finest available in any car - simple, straightforward, elegant and understated. Everything else on this car is first class.

Correction - its my fault for buying a phone within the first 6 months of its release. I checked the archives and the Treo 650 had a good record. The only complaint I read on the 700 was that the phonebook import only brought in Favorites, which was fine by me. Even now, there aren't many complaints along the lines of my intermittent re-booting.

I'm about to lease a 2007 4.2 and have a Verizon Treo 650. The Audi website
(www.audiusa.com/bluetooth)indicates that it may only support a GSM Treo.

It may not make or break my decision but would be nice to know whether I can synch up with the car. TIA.
