My car was in service for the 15k. The service rep told me that many warranty and previous maintenance coverage I had from my C5A6 (2002) are now gone. My C6 fuel filler door needed an adjustment since it sometimes will not open and i have to get a credit card in the slot to open. They told me the adjustment will be charged.
I then got my Sales rep to look up the warranty and mainenace coverage for 05. It turns out its the same as the 04's. Brakes were still covered for a one time change and items like wiper blades and any adjustment needed should be free. 06 now have a more limited warranty and 07 will not have any at all unless you purchase it in advance.
Is it true that BMW also will get rid of free maintenance?

Does anyone have a chart of the differences between 2002/2003, 2005, and 2006?

The thing is, the warranty you had when you bought the car, is the same one you should have during the entire term.
'07 will see the passing of all inclusive maintenance for everyone - requiring you be a returning Audi customer (details still being ironed out) or buy it up front in advance.
BMW is loudly proclaiming they are the only ones now, but when need to compete on that score goes away, you know that like any savvy business people, they stop offering it as well. Mercedes did away with it some years ago. There was some complaint, but Mercedes sales didn't really slow much.

doesn't sound like a maintenance item to me but more like a repair. What about your driver door can't be opened because the locks jam - is that maintenance, too? How far will one go?

I believe that the warranty for the 2005 Audis is the same as previous models only if purchased or leased before July 1, 2005. My son leased his 2005 A4 on June 30 in order to get the older, full warranty. BTW, many of the salespeople were not aware of the change. I found out about it on this message board and pushed my son to get it just under the wire.
After the lease ended on our previous A6 we automatically went looking for another one and got a 2005 A6 even though the price went up a lot. The subsequent reductions in warranty on top of the increase in price has changed our thinking. Next year, when the lease will be up, we plan to consider several cars. Audi sure knows how to undermine brand loyalty.

All Audis, even 2005 models, that were purchased or leased after July 1, 2005 were no longer eligible for replacement or repair of wear-out items such as rotors and brake pads. You would have thought that Audi would have retained it for 2005 models as an inducement for folks to get old models off the lot just as the 2006 models were arriving. (I made use of that warranty for my front and rear rotors and pads on my 2001 A6. I bet it saved me many hundreds of dollars.) Those cars were still eligible for free annual/10k maintenace for 4 years. Now I understand that 2007 Audis will no longer get free annual/10k maintenace. I have a hunch that it may even affect 2006 models bought or leased after a certain date.

Audi still has 4year/50k warranty for repairs, just their Audi Advantage Maintenance has been changed concerning free service.
