I just received my A6 3.2 and am playing with the MMI settings. I noticed that I cannot set surround sound while listening to the FM radio. Is there something I am missing?

Surround sound only works on CD and Sat Radio.

The trouble is NOT in your set -- this is the way that it is.

I have a general idea of how this works and my assumption is that the frequency response is not as wide in FM and that the effect the Bose electronics would generate on FM would be less than coherent sound.

Between you me and the fencepost, though, Sat Radio -- which I love -- is hardly High-FI, more like Mid-FI most of the time.

However, it is good Mid-FI and the selection alone sells it -- for the time being.
