Have a new 2006 A6 4.2. When the engine is warm and I shift from R to D, I hear a distinct clunk. I understand that the driveline is chaqnging direction, but other automatics I've had didn't do this, or at least it was less noticible. If I shift back to R, it's not noticible. Anyone else have this issue? the dealer told me it was normal, and I'm wondering if I should challenge that assesment. Otherwise, awesome car.

I would drive to espresso stand, shift to park, shut off engine. 3-4 minutes later, start car, shift to D, clunk, and off I go. Foot is on brake the entire time. For me it's intermittent.

Dealer couldn't duplicate or find any codes. Must be normal I guess.
