Hi,

I own a january 2005 Audi A6 here in Europe, with the Parking System Plus (Back and Front)

Unfortunately, at the time the system did not display the visual information on the MMI and i only have the noise indication.

Do you think it can be added ? After all it's only software since all the hardware is already installed.

Any hints ?

all you need is:

1.) new APS+ controller located in the trunk, part number 4F0 910 283 C (EUR 142,10)

2.) MMI SW update (Interfacebox) in the MMI to at least version 1200 (latest is currently 2120)

3.) Navigation-DVD with at least version 2005

Do you mean that it can be added also to a US spec 2005 (of course adding the fron sensor as well)?

I love the "stereo" sensors in BMW - Audi is cheap in this area. They gave the A8 the display (only in 2006 models though) but left us out.

Are you sure new module is reqd? What I know is that each sensor can tell how much is the difference (in cm) the obstacle is - so its a simple sw patch to read each sensoe and display - I have tried attaching eg below -

The display would like -(hey see in a BM how it looks like- colored (unlike red of Audi A8) and with stereo sound(if obstacle is at left - left buzzer will sound)

Now - that reminds me - PLEASE will somebdy hack the QNX and enable some cool features?

Another q - can I buy the controller and fix it myself (I am dying to see the distance display)

Can we change the coding?

You need for graphical distance display in any case the 8 channel park controller box "J446" (for 8 ultra sonic sensors) in the trunk (4F0 910 283 C). The picture below shows where it is mounted (it's the blue box, just below the controller box for the trailer hitch).

To check whether your Software needs to be updated, press on your MMI Interface the "SETUP" and "RETURN" Button at the same time and hold it for more then 5 seconds. You'll see the maintenance menue of MMI as shown in this picture:

select the "Interface box" and press the MMI knob. You'll see the current SW version running on your MMI. As already mentioned you need at least for APS+graphic the SW version "1200" (see next picture, however, I'm not familiar with the US SW versions, might be different from Europe!!, AND, btw, the latest version is currently 2120 with many new goodies for the Bluetooth interface :) still waiting for an update)

Sorry, but that's all I know about this stuff. Some colleagues here in EU have already made such an update (Controller + SW) ---&gt; and it worked!

Any one could tell me which are the differences between the A6 parking system PLUS and the Q7 system???
I leaved my car at my dealer to do the retrofit and he told me that he is going to try doing this, but he also asked me if it was the same on the Q7, and I sayed I didn't know!!!
I think he also don't know the diferences between the two models...

My dealer also says no update for my C6!!!
My C6 its a 2004 version, the first ones and MMI never updated!!!

Any other way to update???
