Driving home from Milwaukee last night I had an odd issue with MMI. With the navigation plotting me home the MMI screen all the sudden flashed a new screen called "Traffic Cut-In" following by static similar to an FM station in poor reception. Happened in the city while on the interstate (90/94 merger to be exact).

The only selection available from this screen was "End" which I selected and it went back to navigation.

Any idea what this screen is about? I have XM Radio if that matters. Car is 2005.

The manual was no help.

Thanks in advance

In the UK we have Traffic broadcasts on FM radio on RDS. With TP (Traffic Programme) on, whenever a local radio station broadcasts a traffic bulletin, the radio cuts in to that station, regardless of what you currently listening to.

Must have been some sort of off frequecy that set the thing off. It would be cool if the USA had that feature.

to see if your car was coded with Traffic Program...I like the feature myself when I didn't have XM...Now I just tune in to local XM traffic station...
