We are getting (officially) satellite radio here in Canada within the next month or so, and I was wondering if anyone can comment on whether there is a difference in sound quality, or anything else they have noted? I have a liking for blues-rock music (eg. Stevie Ray Vaughn). Do either of these services have a channel catering to this style?

XM offers radio over your computer if are an exsisting customer. I also have DiecTV so I have it on my television channels as well.

I've been a Sirius customer for about 3 years. I've had a couple of opportunities to listen to XM.

Sirius does have a blues channel.

I like jazz, and Sirius does a pretty good job there with 3 channels, but they have disk jockeys (or stream jockeys as they like to call them) that talk too much between songs. When I've listened to the XM jazz channel, I noticed that they just play music without talking... I would prefer that.

I chose Sirius over XM because they offer more public radio networks than XM, which is what I spend most of my time listenening to.

Sound quality-wise, I think the two are pretty similar... just OK. Definitely not CD quality.

All of our cars have XM excepts my Audi which has Sirius. I think Sirius has a better music selection and XM has a better talk and news selection.

You should try it out and see what you think. Sirius might also have a sample through its web site.
