I have an A6 with the Bose sound system. It seems to me that the audiopilot feature when turned on does not compensate for road noise. At speeds above 140 kph, I have to turn up the volume manually. The surround sound option does not work well on some kinds of CD music, it distorts the sound, especially on vocals. I also get popping noise when playing genuine CD's whether the surround sound is on or off. Any advice?

I notice a definite lowering of the volume when coming to a stop and then it goes back up when I resume usual speed.
Basically, set the volume when driving that you like and you will notice it quiets down a little when stopping. It isn't supposed to be obvious, that's the beauty of it. Mild changes in the background. It's not supposed to dampen the road noise (as far as I've read), it's just supposed to increase the volume when the noise outside gets too loud, and I definitely notice that.

It's the feature that may as well be absent from my car. I prefered the old GALA, because it was predictable and allowed me to set the volume increase. But it's pretty simple to counter-act, so I don't complain much...

pretty girl... I'd let her rub my back.
Yeah my:
1. MMI Knob has broken off.
2. I have the CD static noise.
3. And Surround Sound works pretty much only when you turn on the radio... and then do that over and over and over and over and over .....
Right now I feel like flying over to Audi Head-Quarters and giving out some slaps.
