was the 4.2 A6, I must confess that I don't think it's worth $15K more, than the Acura RL which I ended up buying. I wanted to wait at least a week before letting you folks in on my choice, as I wanted to get an extended "tesy drive" before telling you that it's more than adequate (for me).
I do want to thank those of you who gave me advice, mostly ofcourse in the A6 direction, which is fine as I find it a great vehicle.
As I bought it, I do always have the option to trade it in, should I later regret the choice made.
I shall continue "lurking"

I'm curious why you compared the C6 4.2 with the RL? I think the C6 3.2 is more comparable to the RL than the C6 4.2. In terms of HP the RL has 45 HP more but in terms of torque the RL only has 17 lbs/feet more. The rest is a matter of preference but both brands offer the same features for the most part.
I also drove the RL and found performance not at all exciting, it certainly didn't feel like 300HP and was more noisy. That being said, we all have our own ideas of what we find satisfying and what we're willing to shell out 50K for. Best of luck with your new car.

I was helping a friend car-shop the other day. She test-drove the TSX, and while she wasn't crazy about the car, she LOVED the touch-screen Nav. I was impressed with that, too. Just amazing.
RL's a handsome car, in my view, as well.
Enjoy the ride.

and not everybody wants to be that involved in owning a car. That isn't to say Acura doesn't build very good cars, it's just that most people don't seem to work themselves into a tizzy - especially in the higher end bracket (except NSX of course).
Enjoy. Lurk. Perhaps we'll eventually welcome you into the 4 rings club.

what you can get. Almost.
I think the 4.2 would satisfy all my needs from a power point of view. But as previously stated I don't think that warrants + $15k, from my perspective at least. Nor were they readily availble, at dealerships, with the options that I would like to get.
So, I did test drive the 3.2, and didn't find it bad, but again if you load it up with all the options of the RL, then you end up paying +4-5k more than I paid for the RL! Mind you I got the best deal I ever got on any vehicle so far. So money also paid a role
And with regards to the 300Hp, after a weeks driving I believe you are right, that you have to drive it a little spirited to get it to show. But any worse than the 3.2 I doubt. To my findings it has the smoothest gearbox of all the vehicles that I tested. Although I would have put a 6 speed in there in lieu of the 5 speed.
And yes, I mean no, I'm not passionate with this as I have been with all my prior 4-rings. But I look at it this way, I'm on an extended test-ride, and when/if time and vehicle is right, then I can just trade her in! I didn't have any expectation entering the RL, and finding many things to like, besides it's very clean looks.
I once more thank you for the very sober set of comments from you all, and hope that one day I may find my way back to OOOO.
Best Regards to you all

Appreciate your honesty about the car and I hope you continue to like the RL.
Thanks
