According to the matrix on the Verizon website (http://www.verizonwireless.com/bluetoothsupport), the upgraded firmware for the V710 should do everything but phonebook in the 2005 A6. Phonebook transfer is supposed to be compatible with the 2006 A6. I have no idea whether this is a BT driver update that those of us with 2005s may be able to get from the dealer or whether it would take a new BT radio in the car (I'm leaning towards the former, as the matrix shows the same module).

I have had the "new" Verizon software on my V710 for about 2 months. It is better than the old software but it still has many problems. It sporadically refuses to automatically reconnect with my 05 A6 4.2 car when I return. It still does not provide you with info regarding recent calls made or received. It still does nothing with the address book. All it really accomplished was that I now have a signal strength meter on the screen and instead of having a 10% chance of automatically reconnecting with the car when I return, it is about 60%.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for those issues. So far, I haven't had a reconnect failure, though I did notice that I had no recent call info (even though I was dialing through the car).

The key layout (what genius Moto engineer decided it would be a good idea to shrink the middle keys to put "feet" on the outside keys?) and phone book organization also piss me off.
