The color is a little less subdued than I had hoped, but the comments are (mostly) favorable. I cannot say enough good about this car.

Note the dark walnut, rather than the beige birch which was standard with this now-discontinued color. Audi gladly arranged for the deviating wood. After one month, the seats remain clean, but it is a struggle!

When my dealer called to say it was in, I rushed right down to see it (as we all do). I have to say my first reaction was to see if maybe I could talk them into exchanging it for something more conservative. But one drive hooked me. Thanks again -- hope to be on this Forum a long time.

Too bad you now have to go through Audi Exclusive in order to get this interior color here in North America.

My dealer tells me that starting with the '06 model year, special orders like this will entail an upcharge. I think this is the $750 that, as you can see in other posts, will be charged for certain "sold order only" colors. The intention is said to be making certain that cars which are built outside the standard order deck don't get canceled and then prove hard to move. The good news, he says, is that Audi will increasingly allow customers (who are willing to pay a little more) to special order more color/trim/wood/equipment configurations -- basically, anything that is buildable, notwithstanding Audi of America's local inventory restrictions.

I really like that feature a lot. I know that right now, ventilated seats are reserved for the A8/A8L as a regular option. Now if Audi would just make their ventilated seats a lot more powerful with no sacrifice in performance or fuel economy and no increase in weight, that would be excellent.
