Much prefer Sirius - especially if you like NFL, and NBA coverage, have Sirius in all of my vehicles.

Prefer XM... have it in my vehicles, home, and office. Really depends on what you are looking for... both are good. XM has an excellent music variety and some unique stations (like Music Lab... progressive rock, fusion, and jam bands) that they do not have on Sirius. XM has baseball, good comedy, and some cool XM Live material from various bands. Plus, I find XM to be a bit less programmed than Sirius. But, Sirius is good as well... NFL, NBA, Stern.

I personally have XM and am not impressed with the playlist selections, the variety, and the quality of sound.

I find the stations to be either way too "niche" market, or if they are general category stations, they play about 30 songs over and over...

Fortunately, in my city, there are some great radio stations and I don't need either (not to mention, they don't charge $13/month)...

you should listen to some of the programing that both offer. Each allow you to listen for 3-4 days via the web and streaming the programming in. XM does it through Windows Media Player.

On a related note... Once you have XM you can get the Windows Media Player streaming for free. Nice feature for the office or home.

after spending a little time with both, and am happy. Channel line-ups are similar, but channel for channel Sirius seemed about 5% edgier. Both now cost the same, both offer access over the Internet. Wouldn't choose one car over the other just for the sat radio choice, and the boxes are interchangeable.

Otherwise, XM all the way, baby! Especially if you despise Howard Stern. If it weren't for the fact that I am a huge fan of Stern, I would go for XM since I think it is a much better deal than Sirius. But since I am a huge fan of Stern and absolutely cannot give up listening to him, I am getting Sirius when I get satellite radio.
