View Full Version : Why GM is the laughingstock of the car world April 06-03-2005, 10:42 PM

klik

Fleuger99 06-04-2005, 06:12 AM You're being way too harsh!! When I turn 90 in 55 years that's exactly what I want to be driving!! Ha! Ha! Craig jefman 06-04-2005, 04:56 PM How do you set up a Kliky? And BTW you're not short your just vertically challenged:) TIA April 06-04-2005, 11:02 PM seem to fit the very tall and the very short. Rare trait in a car. It's also one of the reasons I kept driving the Alfa all these years - terrible ergonomics for tall folks, but great for the "vertically challenged" ;-) As for linking to stuff, here's how I do it: Either drag the link of the site/page you want to link to, to another window and copy the url that shows up in your browser window. Or in the case of the Mac (maybe PC too, it's been years since I've played with one), hover over the link, hold down the mouse, move it a smidge, and a menu pops up, with one of the options being being "copy link to clipboard." Then paste the url into the link url under the main posting box here on AW, or if you want to create multiple links in the body of a message, use this bit of code but reverse the >....< at each end to <......> >a href="link">"link text"</a< Multiple pics are done like this, again reversing the >...<: >img src ="link to your pic"< wilfred2k5 06-05-2005, 12:53 AM It was definitely a boat on the road, but it was also way ahead of its time. Auto-dimming headlights & rearview mirror. 12-way seats. Airbags. Bosch ABS. 500 cubic inch engine (8.2 liter), with a smooth as silk 625 cubic inch, 3-speed transmission. The trunk could easily handle 5 stiffs in relative, though unnecessary comfort. The thing I remember is the timing band slipping. Keep in mind that the "timing band" on this thing was wide enough to cover a person's chest. For more than a year, after getting out of the car, I had about 20 seconds to get clear before the humongous backfire that sent people running for blocks. Other than that, I had about a 6 month MTBF. Would I trade my C6 for one? Oh...heck no. Not even my C5. Now, my Mazda...it would've been close. The Eldorado was a beautiful car by any standards. And that engine was massive! With the extended range 42-gallon tank, I should've bought my gas by the barrel...it would have been cheaper. Oh...one more story. A guy in a Ford Taurus rear-ended me at a traffic signal. Ripped the entire front end off his car. I had a slight scrape in the rubber strip of the bumper. My dad used a razor blade to even it out. I think the guy had to total his new Taurus. Except for the steam coming out of his engine, I barely noticed he hit me! |
