View Full Version : Time to open it up! safelder 04-28-2005, 05:19 PM

wilfred2k5 04-28-2005, 07:03 PM And be sure to keep varying your rpm's whenever you think of it. The car itself will open up a bit at 5000 and at somewhat regular intervals thereafter. You won't be seeing the best the car can do until around 30,000 miles. moveout 04-28-2005, 09:05 PM At the rate I drive my car will be 3 or 4 years old. Must Drive More... perfectlyfrank 04-29-2005, 05:26 AM I've really owned a car past 40k. wilfred2k5 04-29-2005, 02:13 PM My '01 A6 4.2 really opened up the last 2 years I had it. Literally, the car drove better on its final trip to A-B than the day I bought it. One more reason why I almost cried turning it in. I gunned it on that last cloverleaf (from 880 onto Stevens Creek) and took it at 70mph...effortlessly with the S-03's emitting a slight squeal...tiny bit of 4-wheel drift. She glistened in the Noon-day sun, her exhaust purring as they drove her to the back of the lot. And I still looked at her, thinking "That's one fine car" and wishing I could keep her. |
