For those that are interested, my friend's V600 worked perfectly via Bluetooth in my 2005 A6. He entered the default Bluetooth password in his phone after it detected "Audi" (1234). The phone immediately appeared in my MMI. After about a minute, we could see his phonebook and recently dialed numbers on my MMI menu.

We made some calls using the MMI (including navigating my office voice mail system using the MMI wheel), and it worked fine. We are on Cingular.

Our Cingular store no longer has the V600, but thought this might be useful info for people. I'm still planning on getting a SonyEricsson T637 from Cingular.

I have the SonyEricsson T637 from Cingular and it works great. My wife has Motorola V551 and that works fine too, except the signal indicator does not show on the MMI with the V551.

I also have the SonyEricsson cradle which definitely makes a difference in areas where signal is poor.

The SonyEricsson T637 from Cingular paired up well for me too.

You can enter "contacts" into your phone's phonebook; and contacts can have multiple phone numbers. But the Audi can only see things saved on your SIM card. The phone can copy all the contact numbers to the SIM card (overwriting the SIM card). The result is that if you have multiple numbers on a single contact, they are entered as separate entries in the SIM card, with a letter to show the number type, like "Susan /W", "Susan /H".

I was able to make a call using the steering wheel control from the SIM memory of the phone, and was able to receive a call too. The car muted the radio, and the caller's voice was quite clear. They said I sounded like a tin can.

Anyway, seems to work.

Has anyone ordered a cradle? How much do they cost, and what is involved in installation (is there an antenna to install?)

can you download phone directory to car? If you have two phones will it recognize both?
