Do any of you know whether any magazine has done a comparison between the 5 Series, the E-Class and the A6 C6?

Am interested 'cos I took the C6 down my favorite windy road today (extremely tight corners taken in 2nd at 45 mph) and the C6 (which has stock suspension) was in a totally different class from my old C5, which had Koni dampers and stock springs. Am sure that the handling will be up there with the 5.

The car really doesn't need the sports suspension, but I'm considering it to reduce the fender gap. Ride may suffer, even though I'm only using my 17" Avus rims on Conti Sport Contact 2s.

In December Car & Driver reviewed the A6 which most of us have probably read. However if you can track down the real magazine, check out the performance charts--I believe they compared it to the Mercedes E-class, BMW 5, and the new Acura RL (also reviewed in this issue). You won't find this info on-line.

Also, Edmonds' review of the A6 made some comparisons.

According to most reviews that I've read BMW's biggest advantage is steering. According to the numbers they also have better handling and acceleration.

I'd still rather have an Audi.

The Georg Kacher review kind of confirmed what I thought. I have the C6 3.0 FWD 7 sp multitronic, so I should be as quick as a 530i SMG.

Must say that the body control on the C6 is great. However, if anyone knows of an aftermarket suspension which lowers the height but improves bump compliance, please let me know. The fender gap is getting to me.
