Is there a way to cancel the "warning" screen that comes up on the MMI everytime you turn on the ignition? It is annoying to have to cancel the screen everytime you get in the car.

The question is what other changes that would bring with it. Life Rules 01-10-2005, 01:05 PM and we wouldn't have to again press the "favorites" icon to get back to our memory stations... Plano-4.2 01-10-2005, 04:17 PM Search the A8 D2 or A8 D3 forums for lawyer screen you'll see that we've never found a way around it. I found that it becomes habit to accept the screen, about like putting your foot on the brake pedal before shifting from park. NightBlue4.2 01-10-2005, 04:18 PM I am refering to the message that appears on the MMI screen whenever you turn on the ignition. It is a warning advising you not to make entries in the MMI while driving and requires an acceptance of this message before you can move on to other parts of the MMI. This is on a Canadian A6 4.2. EuropeTraveller 01-23-2005, 07:03 AM I confirm that we don't have this splash screen on the european version. But for information this is coming from the firmware of the MMI. The DVD with the GPS map seems to contains a file that is compared to the firmware (saved on an ATMEL or SGS memory) of the MMI everytime the MMI is turned on. It looks like the canadian firmware have this splashscreen built-in Unfortunatly the manufacturer Harman/Becker (www.becker.de) doesn't give any information on this OEM version of their platform. It shouldn't take long as we start to see some hacks for MMI appearing on the web... |
