Every time I turn on the XM radio function of the MMI system, it always says "Note: Update Station List". I assume this is a hint, but I can't figure out how to do this. Do other people see this "note" as well? Is there a way to update the list?

Thanks,

I don't have any idea what this means. I have another car that states "loading stations" when I turn it on. Maybe it means that it is acquiring the stations.

Yes, great pics of a very cool car. I'm picking my A6 up on Saturday and I feel like a little kid on Christmas eve.

You need to have XM "refresh" your radio.

To do this, get your XM ID number (tune to station 0) and call the 1800 xm number (1-800-XM RADIO). Follow the prompts (#3 for current listener, then #2 to refresh your radio). You will then have 2 hours to drive with the XM radio on to receive the "refresh" signal.

I had the same message and it disappeared after this.

Now the message is back! I don't know what the "update your radio stations" means. Maybe I'll contact the dealer and see if they have any contacts. I didn't really get any manual for the radio so maybe if there is one, it will contain the message list of what each means...

My A6 does the same thing with XM, and I tried to refresh as above with no effect. I'm not sure the car is telling you to update anything. (I say this because XM tells me that once channels 7, 122, etc are present then the download is done). The same "update" message occurs when you switch to am radio, and it takes a few seconds for it to load all of the AM stations onto the "dynamic radio station" list. I wonder if the "update" message on XM is occuring when the car is not sensing all of the channels (e.g. you are in a tunnel or in your garage). After a few seconds it goes away. Any other ideas?

I do, and enjoy it, but wonder if you've found any particular channels you like best. I like the decades channels. Also BBC and XMPublic. I am a little disappointed to have so many sports channels and only three classical ones.

"Yes, I'm aware that when you turn the car on it shows Updating Station List. My PRESUMPTION is that, the satellite companies change their listings and the system knows to check to see if there are any station changes or additions."

Have you heard anything? My A6 does this periodically, "update station list" which is not like the "updating station list" message on the AM band. Refreshing it did nothing to stop it, and the XM customer service person I spoke with had no idea. I guess I will ignore this.

Our A8L do the same thing. The radio is receiving a list of updated stations from the satellites. There is nothing manually you have to do.
