And the rest ... the difference between Europe and the States is that customers go to the dealer, order their car how they like it and wait for 3-4 months.

US customers usually won't wait and go to the next dealer where they can take the car home at the same day .. maybe not with THAT ONE option they were looking for .. but *shrug* ..

And you can't give the dealers the choices a regular customer has ... he wouldn't know how to fit the car ... or he would however order all cars the same so why give them the options ...

The market is responsible for the order system, not the manufacturers or the importeurs.

Most options have an installation rate of maybe 2-5% ... not worth putting into a package and not worth offering a market where the dealers wouldn't order this feature because they don't know wether the next customer coming in will like it .. or pay for it.

This may be a bit off topic, but Audi's quality, reliability/dependability and customer service /dealer treatment is also far better overseas than it is here in North America. Several other AW members have also indicated this many times.

Honestly I don't know. But you can always ask and if they don't request it. Maybe if they recieve more than one request they will offer that kind of service. Good luck to you. It's a very nice thing to get the baby in Ingolstadt ;-)
