Other than a V6 vs V8 engine <3.0-4.2> does it not make more sense to order a fully optioned 3.2 for about $5-7K less than a V8? Only difference I can see is that since they both look exactly the same would be the 0-60 times which is about 1.1 sec faster for the V8. All opinions accepted.

The only other difference is the available Solar roof on the 4.2 that is not available on the 3.2.
The 4.2 also comes with a Power adjustable steering wheel.
Other than that, you are correct, do we need the V8?
Some might like the growl of it... :)
nice option in cold climates; alas, not available on the 3.2.

but after driving the C6 V6 (3.2) I have to admit that I really can't justify the extra cash. The V6 felt very lively and for that 1 sec 0-60 difference its not worth it.
For me personally I'd rather get the goodies on the interior (NAV, Voice, Advanced Key, upgraded leather, etc...) and the 18" wheels.
But you have to think of your driving habits also. Living in Chicago and driving in stop and go 70%+ of the time I very get the chance to exercise the V8.

I test drove both version and the 4.2 is soooo much more responsive than the 3.2. I normally don't go for the big engine options in cars, but I found there to be such a difference in the A6 that I'm going with the V8.
