A few days ago, I called the dealership and got a delivery date of mid-November. "Car was in production, red tagged" whatever that means, no VIN yet, according to the sales manager. I ordered on Aug 6th. He added, mine was the second to be delivered to the dealership.
My new salesrep (mine is no longer there) called me yesterday and left me a message saying the delivery date will be December 13th. BTW, this is a LARGE dealership.

Anybody experiencing similar changes in anticipated delivery dates? Is there a production problem for customer ordered 4.2's? It's just so specific a date (December 13th), I wonder what's up. Where's April when we need her?

That's awful and seems strange. My 4.2, which I ordered on 8/19, is on the boat - left Germany on the 14th and is due to be delivered early November. And honestly, my dealer is pretty small...

I hope that's just a glitch in the access audi system, and not a real delay - (and I hope mine is really on the boat!)

You can ask them to fax or email you (pdf) of your vehicle order from the Access Audi system - mine had a VIN and was at port to be loaded on 10/7 - rest are estimated dates...but delivery week of 11/8 - I'm on the East coast - probably that makes a difference? I don't know.
