My guess is that the MMI problems with the D3 A8/A8L are primarily due to the retractable MMI screen (which is heavier than a fixed screen (be it MMI, POSiDrive or COMAND). Perhaps the fixed screen will make the MMI in the C6 A6 far more reliable than the MMI in the D3 A8/A8L.
